Helping your Child with Math Fact Fluency at Home

Start Small

Using a few flash cards lets you see when and where your child has success. Repeat the same 10-15 facts over and over during a session to help build the brain muscle memory of the number pairs. Start with the easier facts and move up to the more difficult.

Offer Help and Avoid Struggle

If your child does not know an answer by the time you slowly count to 4 in your head, tell them the answer and have them repeat the entire math fact aloud to you.

Keep Your Sessions Short

Repeating math facts three or four times in short and fun sessions will get better results than one long session.

Make It Fun

Try some games with math facts or find an Internet site that has some fun math games.

Always end with success!
