Thank you for a Wonderful Teacher Appreciation Week! I have enjoyed everything. The school supplies have been very helpful. The flowers brighten our room and the cards decorate our door and mean a lot to me. The treats and gifts will be treasured forever. Words can not express how special your children are and how much they will be missed. I wish all of you a wonderful summer and a successful 2nd grade year. I send my Heroes off knowing they are prepared and ready for 2nd grade!
Thanks again for all of your support throughout the 2007-2008 school year!
Please continue to check your child’s binder daily. It is very important that your child is reading every night. Have them read previous stories to help their fluency (speed) when they read.
School Dismissal:
If the manner in which your child goes home changes, we must be notified in writing. If an emergency occurs, you must contact the office.

TCAP week! K and 1st will not take the test. Our MAPS will be early in the morning this week, so please make sure your child arrives on time. Our readers will need to come after lunch (12:50-1:20). Please contact me if you need to change your day or time.
Class News:
Our conduct chart no longer has an E-. Students will move their clip to G the first time they break a rule. This is to prepare them for Second Grade. It is very important that you review the class and school rules with your child.
Remember to read with your child every night.
Words to Know:
Remember to review flash cards nightly. They will be in your child’s white binder inside the return to school side of the blue folder. Students need to return them daily so we can review at school. Please review these from last week. We build on the words each week by repeating them in our new stories. If your child does not learn the words he/ she will fall behind in reading. It is very important to read each story in your child’s Reading Spiral Notebook(RSN) nightly. Your child will also bring home other readers to practice. Please help him/ her with these as well.
